About OPHIR

1What is OPHIR?

OPHIR is an application for organizing and analyzing personal and household finances. It may help you review your financial picture, organize transactions, manage budgets and goals, identify recurring expenses, generate forecasts, and receive informational insights.

Available features may depend on the application version, platform, subscription, and connected financial institution.

2Who is OPHIR for?

OPHIR is intended for individuals who live in Canada, are at least 18 years old, and have the legal capacity to enter into a contract.

The Service is intended for personal and household use. Do not create an account for a person who does not meet these requirements.

3Is OPHIR a bank?

No. OPHIR is not a bank, credit union, investment dealer, or financial institution. OPHIR does not hold user funds or transfer money.

Connected accounts remain serviced by the applicable financial institution.

4Are OPHIR insights financial advice?

No. Budgets, categories, forecasts, alerts, and financial assistant responses are provided for informational and educational purposes.

They are not individualized financial, investment, credit, tax, accounting, or legal advice. Before making an important decision, verify the source information and consult a qualified professional where appropriate.

5Do I have to connect a financial account?

No. You connect an account only if you choose to do so and grant the permission shown during the connection process.

If manual features are available in your version of OPHIR, you may use them without connecting a financial institution. Some automatic refresh, analysis, and forecasting features may be limited without a connection.

Account and Access

6What should I do if I cannot sign in?

First:

  • verify the email address and sign-in method you are using;
  • confirm that you have an internet connection;
  • update OPHIR and your operating system to a supported version;
  • restart the application;
  • use an available account or password recovery option;
  • check your junk or spam folder if you are expecting an email or code.

If the problem continues, email support@joinophir.app from the address associated with the account. Include the device, operating system version, approximate time of the error, and error text. Do not send your password or one-time code.

7May I share my sign-in credentials with someone else?

No. Do not share your password, passcode, or one-time code with another person. Sharing credentials increases the risk of unauthorized access and may prevent OPHIR from verifying the account holder.

If OPHIR offers a family feature, use the access and permissions provided for that feature instead of sharing a password.

8What should I do if I suspect unauthorized access?
  • secure the email account associated with OPHIR;
  • change your OPHIR password if that feature is available;
  • close unfamiliar sessions if the application provides session management;
  • review connected financial accounts;
  • if necessary, change banking credentials directly through the financial institution;
  • contact support@joinophir.app as soon as possible.

Learn more on the OPHIR Security page.

Financial Account Connections and Plaid

9What is Plaid, and why does OPHIR use it?

Plaid is an independent financial data connectivity provider. With your permission, OPHIR may use Plaid to establish a connection with a supported financial institution and receive data needed for the features you select.

During connection, the Plaid or financial institution interface may display the requested data categories and purpose of access.

10Does OPHIR receive my online-banking password?

Unless OPHIR expressly states otherwise, the application does not receive or store your online-banking password. Authentication ordinarily occurs in the Plaid or financial institution interface.

Never enter a banking password, PIN, or one-time code in notes, financial assistant messages, or support requests.

11Which banks and account types can I connect?

Availability depends on Plaid, the financial institution, account type, region, and current connection status. OPHIR does not guarantee support for every bank, credit union, card issuer, investment platform, or account type.

The connection interface displays the current list. If an institution or account is unavailable, contact support, but do not send online-banking credentials.

12Why will my financial account not connect?

Possible causes include:

  • incorrect or changed sign-in credentials;
  • additional verification required by the financial institution;
  • temporary maintenance by the bank, Plaid, or a network provider;
  • an unsupported account type;
  • an outdated application version;
  • expired permission or required reauthentication;
  • a restriction imposed by the financial institution.

Try updating the application, connecting again later, and following the onscreen instructions. If the error continues, tell support the institution name and error text, but do not send your password or one-time code.

13Why is a balance or transaction delayed?

OPHIR depends on when the financial institution and connection provider refresh data. Transactions may remain pending, change after settlement, appear later, or use a description supplied by the bank.

OPHIR does not guarantee real-time data. For an urgent decision or to confirm available funds, use the financial institution's official channel.

14Why might a transaction category or forecast be inaccurate?

Categories and forecasts use available transaction descriptions, history, and automated rules or models. Incomplete, delayed, or changed data may affect the result.

If the application allows it, correct the category or source information. Before making a financial decision, compare the result with your bank statement and your own records.

15How do I disconnect a financial account?

Use the available connection controls in OPHIR settings. Depending on the connection, you may also manage access through Plaid Portal or the financial institution.

Disconnecting ordinarily stops future data refreshes, but it does not necessarily delete information previously received by OPHIR, Plaid, or the financial institution.

16Does disconnecting an account delete previously imported data?

Not necessarily. Disconnecting and deleting data are separate actions.

To delete data already held by OPHIR, delete your account or submit a separate request. See Account Deletion and Data Requests.

To manage data independently controlled by Plaid, use Plaid Portal or Plaid's privacy request tools.

17Can I reconnect a disconnected account?

A supported account can ordinarily be connected again through the application. New authentication and consent may be required.

The ability to reconnect depends on the financial institution, Plaid, account status, and available OPHIR features.

Budgets, Forecasts, and the Financial Assistant

18What can the OPHIR financial assistant do?

Depending on the available version, it may help:

  • explain financial information;
  • organize transactions and categories;
  • identify possible recurring income and expenses;
  • create budget summaries;
  • estimate future cash flow;
  • draw attention to changes and potential risks;
  • suggest informational next steps.

The application displays the features currently available, and those features may change.

19Can the financial assistant be wrong?

Yes. An automated result may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or unsuitable for your situation. It may be affected by source-data quality, delays in financial institution updates, settings, and limitations of the model used.

Verify important amounts, dates, categories, and assumptions. OPHIR does not guarantee a particular financial outcome.

20Does OPHIR make credit or other legally significant decisions?

OPHIR does not use the application's informational insights to make a decision on behalf of a bank about credit, insurance, employment, or access to an essential service.

If you have a question about a significant automated result or want to correct source information, email privacy@joinophir.app.

21Can OPHIR transfer money or pay bills?

No, unless a separate payment feature is expressly implemented and disclosed in the application. OPHIR's ordinary features are intended to organize and analyze financial information, not hold or transfer funds.

Never treat a displayed balance as final confirmation that funds are available for an urgent transaction.

Subscriptions, Billing, and Refunds

22Where do I purchase an OPHIR subscription?

OPHIR subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Before you confirm the purchase, the store displays the plan, price, currency, billing period, trial offer, and renewal date.

Apple or Google processes the payment. OPHIR may receive limited purchase confirmation but not your full payment-card number.

23Where can I see my plan, price, and renewal date?

Use the store account that made the purchase:

  • Apple: Settings -> your name -> Subscriptions -> OPHIR;
  • Google Play: profile -> Payments and subscriptions -> Subscriptions -> OPHIR.

Also review the store receipt. Learn more on the Subscription Management page.

24How do I cancel a subscription?

Cancel through the store where you made the purchase:

Confirm that the store shows a cancellation confirmation or access end date. Cancellation ordinarily stops future renewal, while access continues until the end of the paid period unless the store or applicable law provides otherwise.

25Does deleting the application or my account cancel the subscription?

No. Deleting the application, signing out, disconnecting Plaid, or deleting your OPHIR account does not by itself cancel an Apple or Google subscription.

If you are deleting your account, first cancel the subscription separately through the store and keep the confirmation.

26How do I request a refund?

Cancellation and a refund are separate actions. For a completed payment, use the procedure provided by the store that processed the purchase. Refund availability depends on the purchase channel, timing, reason, store rules, and mandatory law.

See instructions and contact details on the Cancellation and Refunds page.

27What should I do if I paid but the paid features did not unlock?
  • do not purchase the subscription a second time;
  • confirm the subscription status in the Apple App Store or Google Play;
  • make sure you are using the same Apple Account or Google Account;
  • sign in to the correct OPHIR account;
  • update and restart the application;
  • use Restore Purchases if that feature is available;
  • email support@joinophir.app.

Include the platform, OPHIR account email, plan, purchase date, and order number from the receipt. Redact unnecessary payment information.

28Can I transfer a subscription between Apple and Google?

App stores ordinarily do not support transferring a purchase between the Apple App Store and Google Play. Do not purchase a second subscription until you have reviewed the first subscription's status and contacted support.

Privacy and Security

29What information may OPHIR process?

Depending on the features you use, OPHIR may process:

  • account information and settings;
  • information you enter;
  • authorized data from connected financial accounts;
  • budgets, categories, goals, and notes;
  • financial assistant prompts and responses if they are retained;
  • subscription information;
  • technical, diagnostic, and security data;
  • support communications.

See the complete description in the Privacy Policy.

30Does OPHIR sell personal information?

OPHIR does not sell or rent personal information. Information may be disclosed to service providers and other recipients only for the described purposes, to the extent necessary, and subject to applicable law.

Plaid, Apple, Google, financial institutions, and other independent services may process certain information under their own policies.

31How does OPHIR protect information?

OPHIR applies administrative, organizational, contractual, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information and the risks. These may include protecting data in transit and at rest, access controls, multi-factor authentication for administrative access, secrets management, logging, monitoring, updates, backups, and incident-response procedures.

No digital system can guarantee absolute security. Learn more on the OPHIR Security page.

32Does the application use cookies?

The mobile application does not ordinarily use browser cookies in the same way as a conventional website. For operation and security, it may use tokens, secure local storage, installation identifiers, system permissions, SDKs, security logs, and diagnostics.

OPHIR web pages may use strictly necessary cookies or similar technologies. Learn more in the Application Technologies and Cookies Policy.

Account Deletion and Data Rights

33How do I delete my OPHIR account?

In the application, open Settings -> Account -> Delete Account, review the consequences, and confirm the request.

If you cannot sign in or the feature is temporarily unavailable, email privacy@joinophir.app with the subject "Delete My OPHIR Account." Include the account email address, but do not send your password or banking secrets.

Before deletion, separately cancel the subscription and save any information you need. See the complete instructions on the Account Deletion and Data Requests page.

34What data is deleted with my account?

After confirming a valid request, OPHIR closes the account and deletes or de-identifies active user data under its control in accordance with the applicable retention schedule.

Limited records may be retained where required or permitted by law, including for security, fraud prevention, accounting, disputes, documentation of request completion, or legal claims. Backups are deleted or overwritten during their ordinary cycle.

35How do I obtain a copy of my data or correct information?

Email privacy@joinophir.app. Include your name, account email address, request type, and information that will help locate the records.

OPHIR may request reasonable identity verification. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correction, deletion, withdrawal of consent, information about processing, and portability of certain computerized personal information.
